In Lavinia Braniște‘s Evadarea lui Moș Columb, Moș Columb, a kind-hearted pigeon, helps the finch Alexei care for his soon-to-hatch chick. However, Moș Columb loves being around people and eating bread crumbs and biscuits all day, which causes him to gain weight and makes flying quite difficult. When his favorite old lady from the park takes him home and starts feeding him cakes, the birds in the pine tree where Columb lives must embark on a rescue mission to save him.
