In “Lupul jucător de poker,” I wanted to blend humor with a touch of adventure, capturing the lively essence of childhood curiosity. The story follows Antonia, a clever girl living with her grandmother in a quaint house in Bucharest, and her intriguing neighbor, Gica Mielușeanu, who becomes entwined in her playful detective antics. This narrative explores themes of bravery and intelligence as Antonia faces the cunning wolf who thinks he can outsmart them.

Through my text and illustrations, I aimed to bring the vibrant personalities of the characters to life, emphasizing their wit and charm. The playful dynamic between Antonia and the wolf serves as a reminder that even the most formidable opponents can be outwitted by cleverness and courage.
The book’s manuscript was honored with Trofeul Arthur in 2014.
